LIFE REFRESHMENT at Politico Agriculture & Food Summit 2017
Anheuser-Busch InBev
In November, LIFE REFRESHMENT was present at the Politico Agriculture & Food Summit, which was held in Paris. During this event more than 130 farmers, policy makers and agriculture and food industry experts are gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainable food production and the ways in which our growing world is inspiring innovation and industry potential.
Europe’s agriculture and food industry faces more and more pressure from consumers and government for more sustainable solutions to produce food and beverages for a growing population. The Politico event in Paris was focused on putting “sustainability” on Europe’s farm-to-fork menu. How is Europe able to feed a growing population that may require a 70% increase in agricultural production by 2050 and at the same time adopt sustainable practices in every link of the food chain to build a circular economy that will protect essential resources? What would it mean to achieve a sustainable food production process in the context of the various challenges facing the agri-food industry in Europe? Additionally, with a growing consumer awareness about food traceability and safety, questions may arise as what is the relationship between pesticides and sustainable farming in the future? These and other topics were tabled during various session throughout the day, with for example a panel discussion about how industry players can use technology to cut down on massive waste. Throughout the whole day AB InBev held a booth where the technology of LIFE REFRESHMENT was shared with the participants of the event. Samples of prototypes of the beverage were presented and people could interact and share ideas about the LIFE REFRESHMENT technology.
