On 6th June, our Zone President Stuart MacFarlane and our VPs for Procurement & Sustainability and Legal & Corporate Affairs Richard White and Maria Rocha Barros respectively hosted a first of its kind intimate, sustainable, beer-inspired dinner at our historical offices on Brussels’ Grand Place.
Invitees, including representatives from various NGOs, trade associations and policy offices were guided through a unique beer and food-pairing experience focused on ABI’s sustainability journey and European roots.
The Chef for the evening, Jeremy, created a menu that highlighted natural ingredients including those from the brewing process, for example a delicious barley risotto as part of the main course. Jeremy, also known for his commitment to ocean conservation and sustainable fishing, served sustainably sourced line fish throughout the evening. To ensure the perfect match for our guests, an ABI sommelier tailored a recommended beer to come paired with each course.
As a brewer, our reliance on natural ingredients is inextricably linked to our long-term success. The evening not only sparked open debate and revealed several opportunities for learning, growth and strong new partnerships, but it was an opportunity for us to bring to life through taste and touch our belief that sustainability is not just related to our business, it IS our business. Together, we are building a company to last. Not just for a decade. But for the next 100 years.
