Gathering friends for drinks to kick off the festive season is always a good idea. Especially when it gives us the chance to share new about an exciting new arrival!
That’s what we did earlier this month when we invited VIP guests to Brussels over some of our no and low-alcohol beers as we unveiled the latest addition to our AB InBev fleet, our CyBEERtruck!
The new e-truck, built by Volvo will be delivering beers around Belgium from Spring 2020 and we were delighted to welcome Krista Walsh, Volvo’s director for Communication and Sustainability affairs to the event. “It’s your job to make the best beer, and our job to deliver it to your consumers the most sustainable way” she told the guests.
Richard White, our VP for Procurement and Sustainability explained how investment in green logistics is an important strand of our strategy to embed sustainability at every touch point of our brewing business; “Beer is a very simple and natural product and we rely on a healthy natural environment and a thriving community to conduct our business. Sustainability is now embedded in every area of our business”
And our VP Legal and Corporate Affairs, Cybelle Royce, thanked Volvo for their collaboration saying “By working with like-minded forward-thinking partners we can bring green technology on a larger scale and work on a sustainable future at a faster pace”.
During the evening our guests had an opportunity to inspect the new truck for themselves as well as sampling snacks which are made from smart proteins, developed from the saved grains in our brewing process, a great example of the circular economy in action.
And of course let’s not forget the beer, the low and no-alcohol beer we served on the evening is available across many of our brands in Europe as we encourage smart drinking among our consumers as we want every experience with beer to be a positive one.
Sustainability and smart drinking, we had plenty to celebrate as we continue to deliver on these goals on the eve of a new decade.
