On the 11 of April, our Life BEVERAGE project was presented at the 13th international Trends in Brewing symposium in Ghent.
David de Schutter took the floor in front of an audience composed of brewing industry representatives and academics. The point here was to present this innovative green technology to the brewing world and offer them the possibility to use it themselves.
Indeed, the BEVERAGE technology intend to reduce by 12% the heat requirement of the brewery. Hence, saving energy, costs but more important reducing by 8% the carbon footprint. AB-InBev has the ambition to help making the world cleaner. To increase even further the impact of the technology, the license is offered for free to brewers producing less than 1 million hl per year. By sharing this technology, we hope that the impact of this project will go beyond AB-InBev and really make a difference for the whole sector.
The audience received quite positively the project and a lot of questions were asked. At the end of the presentation, brochures explaining the technology and containing contact details were distributed. We are confident that other brewers will contact us to implement the new process in their brewery.
