Every year, on the King Gambrinus’ day, the Knights of the Brewers’ Paddle gather for their traditional general assembly. Connected to the Belgian Brewer Association, the Knighthood of the Brewer’s Paddle represents “the traditions and dignity of the noble brewing trade throughout the ages”. Membership of the Knighthood of the Brewers’ Paddle is reserved for those who made an important contribution to the Belgian beer industry. This year, the celebration took place at the AB-InBev brewery in Jupille-sur-Meuse on Friday March 22. During the event, 7 employees from AB-InBev were Knighted among which was our LIFE BEVERAGE president, David De Schutter.
The celebration was initiated by a visit of the brewery during which the LIFE BEVERAGE project was presented among our two others LIFE projects (REFRESHMENT and YEAST). Our project manager, Maxime Thiry, showed the process in detail. He started by a general introduction of the LIFE program and the background of the BEVERAGE technology. The different steps of the process were then explained highlighting some important KPI’s as well as challenges and how to handle them. The goal here was to introduce process technicalities and show the pilot installation to an audience of professional brewers. Another good opportunity to disseminate the technology and put into the spotlight the LIFE program.
