The LIFE YEAST and LIFE REFRESHMENT projects were showcased during the New Food Conference, organized by Proveg in Berlin, last March 21st and 22nd, 2019. Our partner AB InBev had a booth there, to show the ingredients developed from the upcycling of their coproducts. Those ingredients include a fermented base, result of the project LIFE REFRESHMENT, and yeast extract, result of the project LIFE YEAST. Brochures of the respective projects were also presented to the public.

The New Food conference was focused on non-animal proteins for human consumption. According to the organizers, “More than 300 attendees from over 30 different countries made their way to Berlin – representatives of large food corporations shook hands with researchers and market analysts, young startup entrepreneurs got in touch with investment strategists, and members of the press conducted interviews to share these novel ideas with the broader public.” For AB InBev, it was the occasion to better understand the challenges linked to alternative protein productions, and to liaise with new partners from various industries. Our products sparked lots of excitement!
