A nutritional drink based on saved grains

Until recently, AB InBev only sold the main by-product resulting from brewing operation, the so-called spent grains, to be used for animal feed. A sin, according to Dr. Jorge Gil-Martinez, because the fibres and proteins from these grains are particularly nutritious and therefore suitable for human consumption. He came to startling new discoveries.

The unique DNA of AB InBev

Stuart MacFarlane has worked for more than 25 years for the company that is now AB InBev. He started his career at Bass, a small British brewery, which later became part of the then European brewer Interbrew. In 2008, he witnessed the birth of AB InBev; a result of InBev’s combination with the American Anheuser-Busch (known for Budweiser). MacFarlane stepped up as AB InBev’s European Zone President in 2012. Since then, he has experienced first-hand what it means to live the company’s culture, and to leverage it as an enabler for transformation.

AB InBev is Putting Sustainable Sourcing on the Menu

AB InBev is Putting Sustainable Sourcing on the Menu

The global food system is under increasing pressure. Factors like heightened weather unpredictability and population increase add insecurity to food production schedules. In Europe, consumers and policy-makers continue to put pressure on producers to more sustainably plant, produce, process, label and distribute food and drinks. European governments are responding with actions like France’s Special Convention on food or Europe’s proposed Common Agricultural Policy.

Last but not yeast: launching our LIFE YEAST project

Last but not yeast: launching our LIFE YEAST project

Ask most beer lovers to reel off the ingredients of their favorite tipple and they will probably say malted barley, hops and water. All present and correct; however, the brewing process would not be complete without another vital – but often overlooked – ingredient: yeast.

What has beer done for us?

What has beer done for us?

You’d be surprised – beer is responsible for scientific discoveries, breakthroughs in modern medicine and perhaps the very start of civilization itself... From medieval cellars to modern political chambers, beer has been with us for millennia, sometimes considered a natural  source of nutrition and sometimes used as a political tool.

Because there is so much in beer to discover, we launched The World Of Beer

Drink smart today, celebrate tomorrow

Drink smart today, celebrate tomorrow

Enjoying a beer with friends or family is an opportunity to create great memories. We are passionate about brewing great beers, but we know that not all consumers make smart drinking choices all of the time.

At AB InBev, we are committed to smart drinking, and we have worked over the last thirty years to raise awareness and take action to reduce the harmful use of alcohol.
